PROJECT BACKGROUND

The firm has recently completed construction administration for Phase 1 of a 35-acre drainage and paving project for the Mississippi State Port at Gulfport. This project will improve the Port's latest expansion area to its final working configuration for expanded containerized freight operations.  The firm recently delivered Phase 2, including asphalt paving and additional drainage.  The total project cost for both phases is estimated to be about $4.3 million.

The firm has recently delivered the relocation of Hewes Avenue for the Air National Guard (ANG) in Gulfport, Mississippi. While this project, from the ANG's standpoint, is intended to remove civilian traffic from the interior of the base, its location requires that it be designed as a major traffic artery to serve as a major part of a 4-lane circulation plan around the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport. The construction value of the project with all alternates is about $5.5 million, while the total project cost including land acquisitions and other soft costs is almost $10 million.

The current team members recently designed and performed construction administration and inspection for a several drainage projects for the City of Gulfport totalling over $2 million.

KES is a member of the engineering team which is preparing preliminary designs and estimating delivered the first portion of the study for the 26-mile east-west multi-modal transportation corridor.

KES’s work includes the western end of the county through Gulfport’s east border plus a route study for a North-South connector from Highway 90 to I-10, in the western end of the county.

The firm recently delivered the final design for the 4000 GPM West Beach Wastewater Pump Station for the Warren County Wastewater and Solid Waste Management District.

The firm is involved on the civil aspects of small and large commercial and residential developments, including a number of projects requiring resolution of wetlands problems.
